Never again, yet it appears another genocide against an innocent people is underway. Pretty harsh words genocide, but there are no other words to describe what’s  happening in Palestine. In only 35 days the total reported deaths has reached over 11,000. The airstrikes have killed at least 11,025 Palestinians, including 4,506 children, in 35 days! As I write, attacks are underway within Gaza city on a particular hospital . Ironically, the name of this hospital is Al-Shifa or Shifa, which in Arabic means “house of healing.” Now, at this hospital there’s only death. Where’s the world, why is the world letting this happen again?

“Dr. Mohammed Ghneim has not left his hospital in Gaza City in four weeks. He can’t remember the last time he slept or ate, and his blue scrubs are stained in the blood of patients who’ve died in his arms.

His voice cracks under the weight of the horrors he’s seen: fetuses pulled from the wombs of dying mothers, children with crushed lungs struggling to breathe, and his own colleagues – doctors, nurses and EMTs – transported to the hospital morgue in body bags.”

An Israeli airstrike destroyed the hospital’s generator, cutting electricity to the building, including life-saving equipment used by 39 infants in neonatal care.  Three infants have already died.

Israel says civilian deaths and the destruction of facilities, like hospitals, are collateral damage and that Palestinians should flee to safer areas. But there’s no where safe to go. How do you safely relocate neonatal infants requiring incubators and life saving equipment when there’s no power or no where to go?

How is this never again? The whole world has turned their back on Palestine. Please don’t turn your eyes away from what’s happening in Palestine, make your voice heard. Don’t let this be another genocide or holocaust. This is a humanitarian crisis and it needs to stop! Where are the democratic leaders of the world, why do they continue to look away? Gaza has become a grave yard for children. If only a cease fire, then we could save the children.
